Plastic Free Spring Fayre

Event Date: 18th May 2019, 12:00 – 17:00

Event Category: Show/Festival/Event

Location: The Pier House, Westward Ho!

Want to know more about the ocean plastic pollution and what changes you, and your children, can make to help?

ReFuse & ReUse in association with Visit Westward Ho presents the UK’s first Plastic Free Spring Fayre!

The Fayre will be opened at 12:00pm by Rt Hon Geoffrey Cox MP followed by an afternoon of activities, entertainment, plastic free advice and shopping.

You and your children will be able to make/take home bath fizz bombs, listen to an Ellie Jackson storytime, create their own art from collected beach clean plastics and learn about how they can help protect our natural environment.

CHILDREN’S BATH BOMB WORKSHOPS: 1:30PM, 2:30PM, 3:30PM & 4:30PM
Hosted by Helen Cross, your child will learn how to create their own scented bath fizz bombs, then take them home their creations for use at bathtime. Children will make up to six bath fizz bombs along with the recipe and instructions. This workshop is suitable for children aged 4 and upwards. Adult supervision required. Workshops will last up to 30 minutes.
A small charge of £3 per child will be made.

ELLIE JACKSON STORYTIME: 3PM
Ellie Jackson, Plastic Free’s answer to J K Rowling, will be hosting a storytime for children aged 4-10. With Duffy’s Lucky Escape, Marli’s Tangled Tale and Nelson’s Dangerous Dive already published in the Wild Tribe Heroes series, Ellie’s dream that every UK school child should read at least one of her books is well on its way!

WE WILL BE ANNOUNCING FURTHER ACTIVITIES IN THE COMING WEEKS.

5:00PM: FAYRE CLOSES

The Fayre will also be host to over 20 retail exhibits and information stands. Please feel free to browse the plastic free gifts, arts and crafts throughout the afternoon.

Finally, we would like to thank Robert Braddick and the staff at the The Pier House for their support in hosting this event.
