The show has been held annually since 1892, changing from a half day to a whole day about forty years ago, having grown to the major event it is now. The show's present home is Clovelly Court, which gives it space to accommodate the six horse and numerous livestock rings.
Classes include crafts, cattle and sheep, together with horse and pony competitions. There will be a display of vintage farm machinery (with commentary), a display of hounds, and of course, a grand parade of the best local livestock. We have a specialist sheep and cattle marquee where there is interactive interest for everyone. You'll find bustling trade stalls offering locally made crafts and food with plenty to interest the children.
It's a great summer day out for all the family! However, please be aware that the show is on agricultural land. It may be slippery, and it will certainly be uneven, so please be prepared and wear suitable footwear. However, thanks to generous grants from BALSDON TRUST, TDC COUNCILLOR GRANT, & BIDEFORD BRIDGE TRUST, we have purchased all weather mats to improve access if the entrance is wet & slippery.
The gates open at 8.30 am and the show culminates with the Parade of Vintage Machinery at 4.30 pm.
